IT was the moment gardeners all over Midhurst had been preparing for over the last few months and there was hardly a weed in sight when the Midhurst in Bloom judges set out across the town.
John Humphris, renowned gardener from Easebourne was joined by David Tunks, John Backshall and chairman of Midhurst Town Council’s community care committee Glyn Upjohn.
Gardens to attract wildlife was very much the theme this year and judges in the Midhurst Town Council organised competition said they had a hard job deciding on the winners.
They complemented all competitors on coping with the challenging gardening weather.
Overall winner this year was veteran gardener Wendy Little who has created a stunning display in a series of different gardens at her Elmleigh home.
She was presented with the Rotherhill Cup given to the competition by owner of the Rotherhill Nursery, David Burton.
Maria Harding, who last year won the Rotherhill Cup won the best small garden category, John Pringle took home first prize in the best patio garden section and June Barnard was Greenfingers Greenhorn winner.
