MIDHURST Town Trust has said a fond farewell and thanks to retiring clerk Tim Rudwick for more than 15 years of dedicated service.

When his father Douglas retired as clerk to Midhurst Town Trust in 1999, Tim took
his place.

At that time Derek Mott was chairman and Garton’s Coffee House was an antiques shop.

Over the years, the post of clerk has become busier and busier with the past ten years concentrating on the successful Market Square project, which is now in regular use for the benefit and enjoyment of the people of Midhurst and surrounding areas.

Tim has spent many hours beyond the call of duty to negotiate with the Monument Trust, Chichester District Council and local interest groups, guiding the Town Trust with the help of his vast knowledge and enthusiasm for all things relating to Midhurst and its history.

Earlier this year, Tim felt it was the right time for him to stand down as clerk to concentrate more specifically on some of his other interests.

His main focus will be on further establishing the Midhurst Museum as another hive of activity for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.

The trust presented Tim with a new computer system for him to enjoy, after his previous one became exhausted with over-use from his huge efforts to keep the trust administration up to date.
