SIXTH Formers Styn Oomen and Jen Welsman have been crowned head boy and girl at Midhurst Rother College.
Originally pupils at Midhurst and Easebourne primary schools respectively, they are now students of the sciences and further maths at MRC.
“We are both thrilled to have been appointed by a student vote from across the college and to have succeeded following a grilling from the principal,” said Jen.
Driven and ambitious, Styn is firmly set on a place at Cambridge with a career in research, while Jen is bound for veterinary college.
Jen, a member of the Cowdray Café team and a level one qualified swimming coach, takes weekly groups to The Herons in Haslemere, and Styn is a keen runner and cyclist.
Although studying takes up much of their time, both are fired up to contribute as much as possible to the next year at MRC.
They have already started planning charities week for April 2015 and want to take every opportunity to participate in community projects such as MADHurst and the Midhurst town ‘Happy’ song project.
Styn and Jen are also looking forward to being ambassadors in and out of college and will partake in the college’s first world war Centenary Commemorations in November.
