A GROUP offering daycare for dementia sufferers has been showing off its new base at Rogate village hall.

The Midhurst group of Chichester Area MIND used to be at the community hospital in Midhurst but moved at the end of November.

On Saturday, its day-long session was open to anyone interested in finding out more about it.

Jackie Griffiths, deputy manager, explained: “We provide day care on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm which also gives respite for carers. The aim of the open day was to give people an opportunity to see the group at work.”

She and manager Michelle Messham oversee a variety of activities including art, craft and games such as skittles and hoopla. The day-care ‘customers’ also lend a hand in choosing and preparing the cooked lunch they get, served from the kitchen at the village hall.

Anyone wanting more information can contact Mrs Griffiths on 01730 810043.
