PETERSFIELD Photographic has been named Shop of The Year by Fujifilm.

The photo store, which has been in the town for 24 years and is used by people from across the Midhurst and Petworth area, picked up the award at the 2014 Fujifilm Digital Imaging Service National Conference.

Owned by Gary Boxall, Petersfield Photographic has been a member of the FDIS group since October 2009.

He recently upgraded his processing equipment to the very latest Fujifilm Dry Minilab, with a 24in inkjet printer and four photo kiosks offering digital prints, photobooks, canvases and mugs.

Gary has also invested a lot of time and money in re-fitting and merchandising his store to make it brighter and more welcoming and with manger Kate Collyer, decided in April last year to participate in the Fujifilm Business Endeavour Awards scheme.

Gary said: “I still can’t quite believe it.

“We have always been known in the town for great service when it comes to all things photographic.

“To have won the FDIS award just proves it. It wouldn’t have happened without Kate and the rest of my fantastic, hard-working staff and the support of the community.”

Peter Wigington, marketing manager at Fujifilm, said: “The FBEA is aimed at recognising the efforts that high-street photo retailers make in promoting photo printing on the high street.

“There is stiff competition among the other FDIS members across the UK so for Gary and his staff to first win one of the four FBEA trophies and then be named FDIS Shop of the Year is a fantastic achievement and one they should all be proud of.”
