Petworth band set for concert and reunion

PETWORTH Town Band is preparing for an exciting concert and reunion this month.

The band is reuniting conductor Paula Streeter with her clarinet teacher, Mark Walton, in a concert at the end of the month.

Previously a teacher of clarinet and saxophone in Haslemere, Mark is now a professional musician who performs in New Zealand and Australia after emigrating there nearly 30 years ago.

The concert is at Midhurst Rother College and will be a joint effort between the town band and the 50-strong Band from Down Under, featuring saxophones and clarinets.

Paula and Mark are also going to be playing a duet.

Tickets to the event, on Friday, June 27, are £8 and under 16’s are free.

The concert will start at 7.30pm.

Petworth Town Band has been around since the 19th century and currently plays under the direction of band master Martyn Streeter and musical director Paula Streeter.
