Plan for 85 homes on former caravan park site
A proposal for 85 homes on a former Midhurst caravan park has been submitted to district planners.
Occupiers of the static holiday homes were shocked when they received notice to quit in September, 2007.
They were given until February this year to get their vans off the park and it is now all but deserted.
The extensive site at The Fairway, which has a picturesque lake, has been earmarked since the mid-1990s for housing development, in the district local plan.
Now the owner, Peter Pratt of Island Meadow Parks, is seeking outline consent for 13 one-bedroom flats, 42 two-bedroom flats, two two-bedroom houses, 22 three-bedroom houses and six houses with four bedrooms.
Forty per cent of the new homes will be affordable housing.
