Petersfield Fire Station’s rescue pump and Chichester’s heavy rescue tender were also called in to help recover the injured man. Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to cut him from his vehicle.

It is believed the injured man may have been trapped in his vehicle for as long as two hours before being discovered and before the emergency services were called.
