Police in appeal to find missing woman

A search is today under way for a missing 71-year-old South Harting woman.

Police are asking for help in finding Hilary Davenport who went missing from her home in North Lane the early hours of this morning (Thursday, July 28) and 11am when relatives called at the address.

Ms Davenport who has short greying hair, wears glasses, is believed to be wearing a bright green calf length skirt, brogue shoes, a purple raincoat and a white or cream blouse.

Officers and PCSO’s, supported by the police helicopter and local people, have been searching the area around the village and further afield ever since, and are anxious to find Hilary, who suffers from Alzhemiers diesase, as soon as possible.

Inspector Will Rolls said; “There are no suspicious circumstances to this disappearance but we are increasingly concerned for Hilary’s welfare as the hours pass.

“She has never done this before. We would like everyone in the area to keep an eye out for her and let us know via 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 0613 of 28 July if they spot her or think they may have seen her today.”
