THREE women are celebrating after losing an incredible five stone between them.

And they have credited the Chichester Wellbeing Service, with classes in Petworth run by Chichester District Council, for helping them.

Kerry Whiting, 44, Liz Stinton, 32, and Jo Walton, 29, have all been attending Wellbeing Weight Loss Workshops, which has seen new classes start in Selsey, Petworth, East Wittering and Chichester.

Kerry, who attends the East Wittering workshops, has lost just under two stone in weight.

She said: “The get together at each session is great and the groups aren’t too big so the support that you get is really good.”

Mum-of-two Jo added: “I really agree with the way that it promotes healthy eating rather than ‘being on a diet’. For me it’s been about making small and simple changes.”

Classes are run across the distinct, including on Wednesdays from 9.30am-10.30am at Petworth Children Family Centre.

Councillor Eileen Lintill, cabinet member for Wellbeing and Community Services at Chichester District Council, said: “The aim of the Wellbeing Weight Loss Workshop programme is to be able to lose weight safely and keep the weight off.

“Each week you will be weighed privately using body analyser scales and there will be a talk and group discussion about a variety of topics along with recipes and healthy snack ideas and tips.”

The workshops cost £2.50 per week and anyone paying for 10 weeks at the start of the course will get two weeks free.
