ROTHER Valley Together, the activity club for elderly and vulnerable people, is appealing for volunteer escorts and drivers.

RVT manager Petra Lynn said: “Members are looking forward to enjoying lunch and fun in the new Grange but desperately need help to get there.

“All of our members look forward to their time with us, seeing friends, joining in with the activities and enjoying a freshly-cooked meal together, but unfortunately we have been unable to pick up some members due to a lack of volunteer drivers and escorts.

“For many from the more rural areas, this may be their only social event of the week and the importance of the volunteers, cannot be measured.

“We are a small but very much needed charity and rely on the support of the people of Midhurst, Petworth and its surrounding areas.”

RVT currently picks people up from Plaistow, Kirdford, Lurgashall, Petworth, Stedham and Midhurst to join in the activities club.

The escorts are needed to help people on and off the mini bus and make sure they are safely belted into their seats.

If anyone can spare a couple of hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays between 9am-11am or 2.30pm-4.30pm they should give Petra or Emma a call on 07957405959.

Alternatively, pop in and see them at the new Grange, opposite the café.
