COWDRAY Hall is set to welcome influential guest speaker Satish Kumar.
Satish will talk about his life on May 2 at 6pm. A former monk and peace and environmental activist, he was nine when he left home to join the wandering Jains and 18 when he began campaigning for land reform in India and working to turn Gandhi’s vision of a renewed India into reality.
In 1973, Satish settled in the UK, taking up the post of editor of Resurgence magazine, a position he has held ever since, making him the UK’s longest-serving editor of the same magazine.
Aged 50, he undertook another pilgrimage, walking 2,000 miles to the holy places of Britain.
The £10 entry to the talk includes a glass of wine.
