IF you’ve ever wondered what that dusty family heirloom might be worth or whether those car boot sale bargains are, in fact, valuable artefacts, now is your chance to find out.

Television antiques expert David Ford is offering free valuations at Fernhurst auctioneer John Nicholson’s roadshows.

The celebrity will be leading a team of art and antiques specialists at two live roadshows next week.

The star of ITV’s Dickinson’s Real Deal and Secret Dealers will be at hand at both events, which are being held at The Maltings, Farnham today Wednesday (March 5) and G-Live in Guildford tomorrow,Thursday, March 6, to put a price on your household treasures.

David said: “I discovered a painting by Frances Hayman in a modest home locally and also a Gainsborough full-length portrait of a gentleman from Bath. The owner was not aware of their true value, but with my guidance we arranged for their sale through Nicholson’s, achieving a record of £750,000 for the two. I recently saw the Hayman in all its glory in the newly-hung Tate Britain.”
