Two arrested in Midhurst after '˜violence' in restaurant

POLICE were called to Knockhundred Row in Midhurst last night (Wednesday, February 3) at 9.30pm after reports that two men had been acting violently in a nearby tapas bar.

A police spokesman said damage was caused to the front door of the restaurant, Faustino’s, and a car parked nearby in Church Hill was found with a smashed nearside front window.

The spokesman told the Observer: “A 24-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place, criminal damage and assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty.

“He remains in police custody.

“A 23-year-old man from Bognor was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage, being drunk and disorderly in a public place and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.

“He also currently remains in police custody.”

The spokesman said the police were now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
