Celtique Energie’s application for oil and gas exploration at Northup Copse near Wisborough Green will after all be heard tomorrow (Tuesday July 22) by West Sussex County Council – despite news earlier this morning that it had been deferred.

A spokesman for the county council said the energy company submitted late information on Friday in support of its application, which had been recommended for refusal.

It was thought the application would have to be deferred to a future meeting of the planning committee while the additional information was considered.

But now the county council has decided the meeting will go ahead as planned tomorrow and councillors will debate and consider the application as originally planned and make a decision about whether to defer, approve or refuse it.

The meeting will take place at County Hall North in Horsham beginning at 10.30am.

The meeting will be webcast live and people can view it at www.westsussex.gov.uk
