THE Environment Agency has this morning (January 7) said the flood warning from Durford Mill to Midhurst, including Iping on the Western Rother, is no longer in place.
A flood warning was issued yesterday, affecting areas along the River Rother from Durford Mill to Midhurst, including Durford Mill, Haben Farm, Trotton, Iping, Stedham, and Midhurst.
Today, however, the Environment Agency has said: “The river level on the Western Rother from Durford Mill to Midhurst is falling and property flooding is no longer expected.
“However, the level of the Western Rother at Fittleworth remains high and a flood alert for the Western Rother is still in force.
“The current rainfall forecast shows scattered showers, sometimes heavy, moving through the area throughout Tuesday, January 7.
“Levels on the Western Rother may remain high but we do not expect property flooding to occur as a result of the rainfall today. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message as necessary.”
