A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a collision on the A29 at the bottom of Bury Hill on Sunday died of his injuries at the scene, police have confirmed.
The driver of a car also involved in the crash was taken to St Richard’s Hospital but released later that evening.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that sadly the motorcyclist was pronounced life extinct at the scene.
“The driver of a car was taken to St Richard’s Hospital and released the same evening.
“Police enquiries are on-going and anyone who may have witnessed the accident should call Sussex Police on 101 quoting reference Operation Stanley.”
The 29 was closed in both directions for more than five hours from the time of the crash, approximately 4.30pm, until being reopened again some time between 10pm and 11pm that night.
