TANDEM has been quietly working for the community since 1981 and operates across the Midhurst and Petworth area, from Rogate to Petworth and as far as Fernhurst.
The volunteer-run transport service receives a small annual grant from Chichester District Council, but relies on fundraising to support the maintenance and upkeep of its vehicles.
And now it is appealing for volunteers to get involved.
Alongside a Tuesday club and regular social outings, the door-to-door service is focused on helping people get to and from medical or dental appointments and check-ups.
It can be used by the elderly, disabled, or people struggling to use, or with little access to, public transport.
Those wishing to be a part of Tandem on a more regular basis can pay a £5 annual fee to take part in the Tuesday club, and social outings including pub lunches and river cruises.
Chairman Ian Hill said: “We provide transport to and from medical appointments, a service open to all in need.
“For Tandem members, we organise social outings to places of interest in the south east and we run a social club on Tuesday afternoons.
“We also provide a house-bound reader service, in association with Midhurst and Petworth libraries.”
