IT was a long and very hot summer, but with enough water around never to feel guilty watering all the vegetables and plants, which led to very good quality of entries at the Fernhurst Horticultural Society’s autumn show, although numbers were down – mainly due to several people being on holiday.
The heat had however brought flowers and some vegetables which were normally still around in early September to an end so there were several classes with no entries.
