The music, arts and drama festival, listed as one of the things that make Midhurst a top ten town by The Times survey, is back with a bumper programme for 2016.
Throughout August and into September, MADhurst will showcase classical music, cabaret, arts and crafts and fun for all the family and culminates in Grand Finale Day on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29, with the procession and free family funday at Cowdray Park with headline band Willie Austen.
At the recent annual meeting it was announced MADhurst will be celebrating 400 years of the Bard with the Shakespeare Heptet, who will bring to life Shakespeare’s sonnets with music in Fence Post Blues and Bard style.
Straight from the Edinburgh Festival are the Horne Section with their unique show of musical comedy.
From the pensioner age Rock Choir ‘The Wonder Years’ to the teenage music group ‘Youth Zest’, organisers hope they have found something for everyone.
Midhurst’s own HG Wells 150 anniversary is also well and truly being celebrated with his book ‘The Time Machine’ lending the theme to this year’s Festival of Time Travel.
The short story competition makes a return to the festival and there will also be living histories, workshops and arts trails among the many entertainment events.
