Man jailed after brawl in Midhurst town centre

A MAN has been sentenced to 18 weeks in jail after a brawl outside a takeaway in the centre of Midhurst.

Police were called to North Street at around 4.55pm on Sunday (August 9) after reports of a fight between two men who worked at the Midhurst Grill.

A 39-year-old man from Middlesex was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

A police spokesman said Nihad Hussan of Rutland Road, Harrow was charged with two counts of assault, one against a member of staff and another against a police officer.

He appeared before Crawley magistrates yesterday, Tuesday August 11 and pleaded guilty.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail and ordered to pay costs of £330.
