While having a go at the sport himself, his instructor suggested Michael should continue with his archery and maybe help at the next Medieval Midhurst.

Always one for a challenge Michael thought he could go a step further, train as an instructor, and open ‘Leaping Hart Archery’ in Midhurst.

“The events during MADhurst at Cowdray Ruins over this coming bank holiday weekend seemed an ideal time to test the waters.

“So come and meet me and my colleagues from Bowmen of Petersfield on Sunday between 11am-4pm,” said Michael, “and learn about the new club, the introduction to archery course, membership and more.

“Although professionally running a photography studio in Midhurst for many years it is always good to have something challenging that is different.

“Until three years ago I used to teach martial art.

“Archery is all inclusive because whatever age or gender, or disability you might have, it is a sport you can really involve yourself in. It is all about improving your own technique, and if you want to enter competitions there are handicap systems that mean you all start evenly.
