Midhurst and Petworth Parish Round-Up

LODGE Hill Centre at Waterfield is repeating its Family and Friends Fun Day after the success of the event last month.

It will be held on Wednesday (August 15) from 9.30am-4.30pm when activities on offer include archery, a climbing tower, crate stack challenge and orienteering.

All age groups are welcome, from six to 100, and further details are available by calling the centre on 01798 831411.


There is a unique opportunity to try the very best wines of Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire when Haslemere WineFest takes place on Saturday, September 15, at Haslemere Museum as part of this year’s Haslemere Food Festival.

The show, which is a gathering of the best of the region’s wine producers now making reputations around the world, has been organised by Francis Gimblett, Haslemere-based wine presenter and author.

A street collection for Action for Children organised by Midhurst Methodist Church raised £242.82 for the charity.

Organiser Alison Griffiths thanked all those had given up their time to collect and those who had given donations.


Northchapel gardeners are hoping for some late fine weather to get everything in tip-top shape for the village vegetable and flower show.

It takes place in Northchapel village hall on Saturday, August 25, when entries will be accepted from 9.30am-11am.

Schedules are currently available from the post office.

New classes this year include apples and plums and iced biscuits for the children.

There is also a competition to paint the best picture of the Queen.
