THE Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth have been tirelessly collecting for the Philippines emergency and have raised a fantastic £910.00.

The figure was supplemented by a donation from the funds of the Inner Wheel Club of Midhurst and Petworth and with further donations from Rotary members, making a total of £1,770.

This has resulted in three ShelterBoxes being shipped to the Philippines to add to the 900 already distributed in the first week following the disaster.

Rotary would like to thank all the people of Midhurst and Petworth for their very generous donations.

ShelterBox was one of the first charities on the scene following Typhoon Haiyan.

A ShelterBox contains emergency equipment needed to house a large family following a disaster where survivors are left homeless.

The ShelterBox charity works very closely with Rotary Clubs around the world with boxes positioned in strategic locations ready for shipment in the event of a disaster.
