Midhurst charity climbing challenge reaches dizzy heights

Intrepid fundraisers from Midhurst are recovering after climbing every one of the world’s highest mountains in just 24 hours.

They did it all without even leaving the town and have so far raised nearly £1,600 from their gruelling challenge which meant the team climbed a total of 43,320 metres in a day.

It was all part of a Sports Relief challenge undertaken by 12 members of the Midhurst Climbing Centre based at Midhurst Rother College and organised by climber Chloe Potter.

“It was a big success and we are really pleased with the turnout for the event, both from climbers and non-climbers who turned up and wanted to have a go,” said Chloe.
