MIDHURST firefighters were yesterday (August 4) called to farmland in Lavington where a bonfire damaged more than 30 metres of hedgerow.

The crew were called out at 3.15pm on Monday after a blaze spread to a hedge and undergrowth at Farmland off Selham Road.

Two hose reels were used to put out the fire and the scene was cleared by 4pm.
