A shared ambition to support younger students through their school life is among the goals of the new head boy and head girl of Midhurst Rother College.
Tom Cain, who lives in Midhurst, and Chloe Dudman from Petworth, both 17, have clear aims in mind.
Said Tom: “I hope, alongside Chloe and other leading figures in the school, to set up a buddy system where different years in the school are able to help each other.
“It seems a daunting task now, but hopefully we will be able to encourage lots of people to take part.
“The aim is to create a friendly college where people are happy to attend, learn, enjoy and feel secure with a large band of people to turn to in times of need.”
Explaining her vision, Chloe said: “I would like to introduce a sixth form mentoring scheme for the younger students to support them through their school life, and interact with the students as much as I can.
“I would love to be someone the younger pupils look up to as an inspiring and creative lead, introducing interesting and engaging activities during such things as charities week.”
