Midhurst Rother College students raising money for trip

AN ADVENTURER will hold a talk to raise money for a school trip to Tanzania.

A group of 15- to 17-year-old Midhurst Rother College students are hoping to travel to a village in the African country to install water baths in a school, decorate classrooms, build a play area and help where needed throughout the village.

But it all depends on how much money they can raise.

Mike Trueman, managing director of True Adventures, the company which the students will tour with, is an adventurer himself, and will talk about his experiences tomorrow (March 18).

The talk will include his assorted climbing adventures of more than 20 Himalayan trips, including four up Everest, the summit of which he reached at the age of 47.

The talk will raise money for the students’ trip.

The group hope to raise more than £200 from the talk, which will be held at the school’s theatre at 7pm.

Tickets are available from Wendy Brown on 01730 812451 or at the door on the night at £7 for adults, £4 concessions.
