MIDHURST Rother College resounded with the sounds of young musicians when pupils from six schools took part in this year’s Midhurst and Petworth Rotary Club Youth Festival.

A full house joined all pupils in opening the event with a lively Hand Jive led by Rihann Parry from Midhurst Primary School.

Entertainment varied from flute and pipe performances from Petworth to MRC orchestra’s rendition of Skyfall. Hazel Morley, chairman of Rotary’s youth committee, thanked Rihann Parry for her work co-ordinating the music, pupils for their performances and supporters who attended.

Sponsors were Roger Poat and Partners Funeral Directors, Cowdray Estate, Café Verdi, Frasers and LF Lintott and Son. “Their generosity will enable donations to be made to the music departments of the participating schools,” said Rotary spokesman Helen Chapman.
