THE Midhurst branch of Save the Children had a packed house for the 20th anniversary of their annual quiz, held at Fernhurst Village Hall.

There was even a waiting list of people hoping to get last-minute spaces and try their luck at the eclectic selection of questions.

More than 90 people teamed up, with team names including the Cats’ Whiskers and the Dogs’ Tails, the No-Brainers, the Legal Eagles and No Fracking Chance.

The diverse range of topics ranged from East is East, Oedipus, Money, Blackberry workers and the Labour Conference.

The winning team scored 78 out of a possible 110 and the evening raised just under £1,800.

The Midhurst Branch was started in the early 70s and has held quiz evenings, Scottish dances, fashion shows, bridge teas, pop-up shops, coffee mornings, card sales and cookery demonstrations –raising more than £190,000 since 1987.
