Students and staff from Midhurst Rother College became trainee astronauts when they visited the Euro Space Centre in Belgium for the weekend.

All students were keen to participate in the offered activities which included rocket launch simulations, taking a turn on the stomach churning multi-axis chair and designing and launching their own rockets.

An undoubted highlight of the weekend was when students were able to experience first-hand, through the power of technology, the wonder of walking on the moon.

The trip proved to be inspirational for Year 8 student, Alice Bowers, who is now considering a career in the space industry. “Space camp has been by far one of the best experiences of my life. It has inspired me to learn more and to maybe even become an astronaut. I just wish I could go back and do it all again.”
