The future of Midhurst Tennis Club has been secured after it sealed a deal to buy its site in June Lane.

County councillor Gordon McAra told fellow members of Midhust Town Council this now gave the club a permanent home.

The Bowling Club which had hoped to sell its home the other side of June Lane and develop state of the art facilities with the tennis club on an adjoining site, is still negotiating.

Plans were scuppered when Affinity Sutton pulled the plug on talks to buy the bowling club site after withdrawing its planning application for eight houses there last year.

Now a new developer is hoping to secure planning permission for four homes on the bowling club site and buy the land. The bowling club is dependent on this funding to move ahead with the tennis club on joint development plans.
