THE Midhurst Writers’ Group has named their 2014 competition winner.

The short story competition this year was won by Robert Berry with his story, ‘Revenge’.

There were ten entries and the judge was Gareth Edmunds, manager of libraries in Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth, Southbourne and the Witterings.

Robert was presented with a book token and the Ray Bell Memorial Award Trophy, a silver salver. The competition for this trophy has been running since 1988. The runner-up was John Connor with his story, ‘Present Danger’.

The winning entries will appear on the group’s website, midhurstwritersgroup.org.uk, where all information about the lively group may be found.
