Midhurst’s unique gingerbread house

A gingerbread house like no other has been created for a Christmas shop window display in Midhurst – and is being sold to the highest bidder to help a children’s charity.
Laura Jandac and her husband, Milos, own The Upholsterer business in North Street.
And much to the delight of their two-year-old son, they have made a fully upholstered gingerbread house, complete with a roof covered in glittering ‘icing’.
It is entered in the Christmas shop window competition being run by Midhurst Town Council in conjunction with the town’s festive street party tomorrow evening.
But, sadly for their son, Laura and Milos say it’s just too big for them to keep.
So they have decided to auction it in aid of Dreams Come True, the charity which brings sparkle to the lives of seriously-ill children.
“It would be a lovely playhouse and we made it so it is completely child-safe,” Laura said.
“It’s all upholstered on the inside as well.
“We’d like people or organisations to bid for it.
“It can be taken down on Christmas Eve and we can deliver it to its new owner.”
She added: “We are not expecting to get millions for it, obviously, but it would be nice if it could make some money for Dreams Come True.”
Bidders should either call in at The Upholsterer, next to Tesco, or call 01730 810284.
