Milland Neighbourhood Plan gets thumbs up

After hundreds of hours of voluntary work Milland’s Neighbourhood Plan is ready to be set in stone.

It went through its referendum stage last Thursday with a high turn out of voters going to the polls at 33.79 per cent of the electorate in the village.

They gave the plan a resounding thumbs up with 89.2 per cent voting in favour of the proposals set out in the plan.

Only 24 were against the proposals while 198 ticked the ‘yes’ box in favour.

The plan was submitted to an independent examiner before Christmas as it went through one of the final of the many neighbourhood plan process.

Following this Val Porter and the steering committee discussed a handful of minor points with the examiner and the South Downs National Park Authority.

Now all that remains is for the Milland plan to go before the planning committee at the national park to be officially ‘made’.
