NEW talks over desperately-needed coach parking for Midhurst have finally given town councillors hope for next year’s tourist season.

They have been fighting for replacement space since coach parking was lost in the Grange car park as a result the redevelopment of the community centre.

Coach drivers have complained to the town council that they no longer have anywhere to drop of passengers.

But after the latest meeting with Chichester District Council and West Sussex County Council, chairman of the town council John Etherington told fellow members: “I came away from the meeting feeling happier than previously. I am raising my hopes.”

Plans for a coach bay at the North Street bus station are now under investigation.
