THE popular Northchapel steam rally is back on the calendar with a new name and a new organiser at the helm.
The rally was cancelled by former organisers Sue Moss and Len Finch last year due to ill health.
Sue was recovering after suffering a heart attack and Len’s wife, Daph, was undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy following a major brain tumour operation.
Sue told the Observer: “We are recovering, but we decided due to health issues not to continue the steam rally. We really enjoyed doing it and we are very pleased it is to carry on taking place.”
The revamped show is to be called the Northchapel Working Steam Show and it will take place this year on Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12 at School House Farm off the London Road at Northchapel.
It is being organised by marketing manager for Amberley Museum, Kate Russell and a group of friends.
