Olympic fever hits Midhurst’s Grange Leisure Centre

AS LONDON Olympic fever grips the nation there is a chance for children to take part in their very own Junior Olympic Games at the Grange Centre in Midhurst.

Monday (August 13) will see the start of the special five-day event run by DPD Coaching Services from 9.30am-11am as part of its Whizz Kids summer holiday club.

There will be 15 events for the children including the gruelling 400 metres, discus throw and hammer throw. There will be an ultimate obstacle course on the second day with table tennis and a 1,000-metres event. The week continues with shot put, rowing, a chance to reflect Team GB’s cycling success as well as other athletic events.

The week comes complete with traditional medal ceremonies organised on Friday with winners receiving gold, silver and bronze medals.

The cost of Olympic week is £20 or comes free with Whizz Kids daily activities.
