A RETIRED city financier from Petworth is helping people with their money, while raising money for charity.
Jo Welman, 56, who retired from a 35-year career in private equity and investment management, was inspired to pen his book, ‘Feet up by the Pool – How to Finance the Rest of your Life, A DIY Guide to Saving and Investment’, after writing a letter to his children explaining how to manage their financial futures when he’s no longer around.
Jo said: “Many of my generation need help understanding the changes that have taken place in the financial world.
“I do little other charity work and my motivation is simple. If we are lucky enough to have time to help others, it makes sense to focus on where our experience lies.”
The book offers advice on budgeting and saving, pensions, tax, debt and investment and is available from Petworth Bookshop for £6.99.
Profits from sales will go to the Petworth Cottage Nursing Home.
The book is also available on Amazon, with profits going to The Money Charity.
Jo will be giving a series of talks and lectures and would like to hear from any organisations that would like him to talk to their group.
