AN ARCHAEOLOGY festival will allow the public to explore the grounds of Petworth House this summer, in an attempt to dig up and discover the history of the estate.

Tom Dommett a consultant archeologist to the National Trust held a talk for the Liss Archeological Group, and told them of a project at Petworth Park, which could find evidence of a missing castle on the land, medieval farming, and even activities associated with the second world war.

The whole project will run for two weeks in July as the Festival of Archeology.
