Petworth Town Council is looking for a new member

PETWORTH Town Council is looking for another councillor to make their numbers complete.

If anyone is interested in becoming a town councillor they should write to the town clerk, Jean Huggett, at Petworth Town Council Offices, The Old Bakery, Golden Square, Petworth by Wednesday, July 31.

Town councillors lost another two members after the annual parish meeting in May.

They said goodbye to Chris Duncton, who also served on West Sussex County Council until he retired before the last election, and they also bid farewell to vice-chairman of the council and head of the finance and general purposes committee, Gordon Allan.

Chairman Ken Lintill paid tribute to their hard work.

Councillors will be filling these two vacancies by co-option at their meeting on Thursday July 18.
