PETWORTH can rest safely in the knowledge that it has two members of the police force out and about, taking care of the area.

The Midhurst and Petworth Neighbourhood Policing Team are pleased to announce the arrival of two new police community support officer’s (PCSO’s) this week.

Richard Boston and Paul Isaac have completed their basic training and are currently being tutored in the Midhurst and Petworth areas before taking control of their own beats, which are yet to be confirmed.

Richard Boston has recently left the army after serving in Afghanistan.

For him, this new role fulfils a long held ambition to join the police service.

Paul Isaac, a student, has just completed his A-levels and, like Richard, has always wanted to join the service.

Both are looking forward to joining the team and are keen to get out into the community to meet their public.

They will join PCSO Ian Luxford.

At a meeting of Petworth Town Council, he told councillors: “It is great to have two new members joining us – it will certainly help me.”
