THERE was a 40 per cent increase in entries at Fittleworth and District Horticultural Society’s Spring show compared with the figures for last year.
Most significantly, the flower and shrub classes doubled in numbers and provided a magnificent and colourful display.
There were seven entries in the men’s cookery class which proved to be good fun and a great success.
Enthusiasm by entrants was tremendous and the show organisers were delighted that the juniors, Brownies and Guides also took part.
The afternoon was busy and a Grand National Sweepstake and delicious afternoon teas added to the very enjoyable atmosphere.
The raffle was organised by Lyndsay Jacobs with a splendid array of prizes.
For all the winner’s see this week’s Observer (April 10).
