Stedham parish councillors have appointed an architect to draw up plans for a new pavilion and clubhouse on the village sports field.
Following a parish meeting in Stedham Memorial Hall where three architects displayed their sketches for a new building. villagers overwhelmingly supported the appointment of Simon Dyson of HDMW Architects based in Chichester.
The parish council has now asked Mr Dyson to work with the special committee looking after the project made up of Stedham Sports Association and Stedham with Iping parish councillors, to develop plans and obtain planning permission. Parish councillors have agreed to pay up to £8,000 for the work.
In the meantime the committee has been looking at options for the use of the Collins Club building which closed in September last year.
