Plans for King Edward VII Hospital at Midhurst given the go ahead

Controversial plans to restore Midhurst’s historic King Edward VII Hospital by building new homes around it were given the go ahead today (November 14) by the South Downs National Park Authority.

But members of the planning committee have asked their officers to tighten up conditions with developers City and Country, over lighting and public access and the protection of wildlife and trees, before work can start.

The decision came after a two and a half hour debate and impassioned pleas to committee members from both objectors and supporters.
