MIDHURST town councillors are making a plea to keep the Midhurst to Brighton bus service which was is due to be axed as part of West Sussex County Council’s cost cutting bus subsidy reductions.
Glyn Upjohn told fellow town councillors he had received several complaints about the decision to axe the bus.
He said it was well used despite poor advertising and the county council’s claim there were insufficient passengers using the experimental service to justify keeping it going.
Town councillors are to express their disappointment at the decision to axe the 62 bus and are asking that it be continued for another year. They are also asking for details of passenger numbers using the service.
They are asking Easebourne parish and Petworth Town Councils to support their move.
