ASSISTANCE dog charity Canine Partners has received a £150 donation from Sussex Police.

PC Paul Quinnell from Midhurst Police Station met demonstration dog Angel when he handed over the cheque to regional fundraiser Jane Grant and.

Jane said: “Sussex Police raised funds for Canine Partners through their Police Property Act Fund, which is made up of money collected from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold. We are grateful for their donation which will enable us train more assistance dogs, transforming the lives of people with disabilities.”

Canine Partners, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, trains dogs to help with everyday tasks people would otherwise find difficult, painful or impossible, such as opening doors, undressing and pressing buttons.

The dogs increase independence and confidence, and provide loving companionship.
