Sussex Police are searching for 48-year old Derek Passmore, who absconded from Ford Prison on Saturday, June 22, and has not been seen since he left prison on day release that morning.

Detective Chief Inspector David Wardley-Wilkins of Sussex Police said: “Passmore is not currently assessed as a direct physical threat to the, hence his being in an open prison, but in view of the seriousness of his offence, and the fact that so far there has been no sighting of him, we seek public assistance in reporting any information that may help us to find him.

“He has had connections in Maidstone, in southwest London including Twickenham, Sutton and Kingston-upon-Thames, and elsewhere in the southeast, although he has no specific association with Sussex.

“The Metropolitan Police in particular are making active enquiries to find him.”
