The Sussex Police farm watch team has been investigating reports of someone plaiting a horse’s mane in Fittleworth.

The incident was reported to the Midhurst and Petworth policing team in November.

PCSO Craig Dunlop said: “A Fittleworth resident reports on numerous occasions they have found plaits put into their horse’s mane.

“As Sussex Horse Watch coordinator I can report there is no record in the UK of any equine having been stolen that has had a plait put into its mane.”
