CHICHESTER Police have issued a warning to residents following a spate of thefts.

Within the Plaistow and Lurgashall areas a number of thefts from vehicles and outbuildings have occurred over the last few weeks. Items that have been stolen include power tools.

A police spokesman said: “Please ensure that you protect your property.

“Make sure that your valuables are removed from your vehicles and that your sheds and outbuildings are locked appropriately.

“Our officers are out on patrol in these areas but we still need your help - please report anything that seems out of place or suspicious especially throughout the night as that is when these thefts are generally happening.

“Don’t hesitate about calling us, we would rather be told and investigate than for it to go unnoticed. Help us fight crime in your community.”

To report suspicious activity, please call police on 101. For emergencies, dial 999.
